Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been busy with the move among other things.
So today is vote day.
I won't be voting for 2 reasons. The reasons being dependant on each other.
The first reason is I know that the Conservatives will take all of Alberta's seats except for 2. (1 in edmonton, and 1 in calgary (see Rob Anders))
The 2nd reason is that popular vote does not count in the election.
So they lie when they say every vote counts. That is not true when your riding is won in a landslide.
Let's say in my riding, the end count is 1000 PC votes, 200 Liberal, 100 NDP. That's 799 wasted PC votes, because these votes aren't counted anywhere else but in your riding. Nevermind that the Liberal and NDP votes goes to waste as well.
Canada is wondering why there's so much voter apathy. Well, count popular vote and you'll see voter apathy drop.
Everybody knows the election is won in the East. By the time BC votes, it's already decided who's going to win. The polls are closed in the East and BC workers are just getting home.
Elect the Senate. That will get more people out. Better then the PM picking his friends to be in the Senate and having access to the Gold Pension Plan.
Anyways, enough of my rant.
Go vote, or not. I don't really care, your vote is wasted unless you're in a riding with a close race. (ie: edmonton, liberal won by 700 or so votes last time)
