In desperate need for some new reading material, I checked the current and previous Hugo Award winners.

The hugo award goes to best novel (among other categories).

So I picked up this year's winner, The Spin by Robert Charles Wilson.

Awesome book, finished it in one day.

Also picked up Speaker for the Dead. The sequal to Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Both books are excellent. They both won the Hugo awards in 86 and 87.

And ask her if she's there, "Hey, would you like to have dinner sometime?"

If she's not there, then yeah, proceed with what you got. "Short skinny Asian girl, what's her name and when does she work next?"
